Episode 127: Embracing Embodiment with Eryn Johnson

Episode 127 So You Wanna Be a Witch. Embracing Embodiment with Eryn Johnson. Eryn standing outside in front of a tree, resting her face on her hand.

This week, I’m thrilled to introduce you to Eryn Johnson. Eryn is a breathwork facilitator, tarot reader, and Reiki Master based in Fishtown, Philadelphia. She is also the host of the Living Open podcast for mystics and seekers.

Eryn is here to school us on embodiment! She shares her journey from yoga teacher to reiki practitioner and breathwork facilitator, and explains why embodiment has become the center of her life’s work.

Eryn rejects the idea that emotions preclude professionalism, and talks about the balance of being tender while holding space for her clients’ tenderness. We talk about centering humanity in our work, the vulnerability of trying new things, and letting go of what no longer serves. Eryn shares the ways she takes care of herself through fear and stays centered on what works in her business.

Join me this week as Eryn reminds this air sign about the importance of feelings and coming back down to earth.

Episode 126: Choose Your Own Adventure

Episode 126 So You Wanna Be a Witch: Choose Your Own Adventure. Sarah's legs wearing black jeans and doc martens walking on a white floor.

Can we take our business seriously and still be playful with it? What does exploration look like when we are seeking to build stability?

As I completely upgrade the Holistic Business Academy’s core content, I am reflecting deeply on the foundational understandings of business that drive me and my methodology. I keep coming back to this:

There is no One Right Way.

Capitalism tells us that our revenue is more important than our joy. My holistic business model tells us that well-being is complex and individualized, and THAT is what I am all about.

Ultimately, my business methodology is Choose Your Own Adventure, and that is what I teach in the Holistic Business Academy: critical thinking, intuition building, and timeless strategy. So, as I work to upgrade HBA’s content to be even more clear and more supportive, I want to spend an episode exploring this foundational idea of choice.

In this episode, I walk us through the benefits and limiting factors of four distinct business models. I talk about why critical thinking and self-trust are just as important as strategy. I show you how to build a business model that allows for flexibility as you come to better understand your needs.

Join me this week to seek adventure, and stay to celebrate my birthday with a magical offer!

Episode 124: October Energy Reading

Episode 124 So You Wanna Be a Witch. October Energy Reading. Sarah's hands shuffling a deck of tarot cards in front of a spread.

Welcome to October! The month of Samhain when the veil thins, the days grow shorter, and we are ushered into the dark half of the year.

This month, the cards are calling us into this between space. It’s another month of all-reversals, which brings our attention to the work we have done and the work we are resisting. Whether we have completed a project, or have washed our hands of a situation that doesn’t serve us, we have finished with something, but we are still waiting for the path ahead to be clear.

How do you handle the liminal space? Do you rush through it? Do you look around and copy what everyone else is doing? Or do you accept it, sit in it, and let it show you who you are becoming?

Tune in this week for our cards guidance through the veil and for some classic Sarah fantasy/sci-fi nerdom!

Episode 120: The Three Pillars of Holistic Business

ep 120 So You Wanna Be a Witch: The 3 Pillars of Holistic Business. Sarah Chappell smirking at the camera in front of a green wall.

Ever curious about what goes on behind closed doors over at the Holistic Business Academy? This week on the podcast, I’m taking an episode to share the basics of the framework I teach in HBA.

What does it mean to call a business “holistic”? What are the foundational steps of growing a business that supports you and your community? Why does business matter? More crucially: why is small business important in the context of all the big crises and change happening in our world right now? How do we apply these ideas in real, tangible ways that impact our experiences, our businesses, and our spheres of influence? I talk about all of this and more, as I break down the three pillars of creating and growing a holistic business.

Join me this week and take a step toward actualizing the business owner you want to be.

And if this episode left you wanting more, be sure to check out our free training, which will take you deeper into the HBA framework:

Episode 119: September Energy Reading

Episode 119 So You Wanna Be a Witch: September Energy Reading. Coffee cup and 3 tarot cards pulled from a deck on a white table

September is a month of reversals, y’all. Literally every card! This month, we’re looking at what we have already done and what we are still resisting. It’s a wake up call, a celebration, a pause, and a calling in.

Are you over-consuming to cover shame and insecurity? Remember that consumption isn’t just for cake and Amazon. Sometimes it’s knowledge, classes, books, social media, and external validation, too! We have four months left of 2020, and it’s time to consider what we really want to do with them.

These cards remind us to pause, to take stock of what we have done, and celebrate everything we can think of. September calls us to community accountability and personal empowerment. It calls us strategy, instead of stagnation.

Tune in this week and remember the joy we are fighting for.

Show Notes:

1:30– Energy of the Month: 4 of wands reversed. Celebrate yourself

8:54– Action of the Month: Queen of wands reversed. Find your personal power.
